How to Activate Your eSIM After Arrival [iOS]

Written by Elad

For iPhone Users

  1. Open Settings: Tap the Settings app on your home screen.

  2. Go to Cellular: Select Cellular (or Mobile Data).

  3. Select Your eSIM: You will see a list of SIM cards.

  • If you installed only one eSIM, select it.

  • If you have several, choose the most recent one you installed.

  1. Customize Your eSIM Profile: Rename your eSIM for easier identification. Tap the eSIM line and rename it to something recognizable, such as "eSIM [Country Name]" or "Travel eSIM."

  2. Turn On Your eSIM: Make sure the switch next to your eSIM is ON.

  3. Enable Data Roaming: Inside the eSIM settings, turn on Data Roaming.

  4. Choose Your Default Line for Data: Go back to the Cellular menu and set the 7G eSIM as your Cellular Data Line.

To confirm that your eSIM is active and in use:

  1. Open your phone's Settings.

  2. Navigate to Cellular or Mobile Data.

  3. Check the status of your SIMs:

    • If your local SIM is turned off and the eSIM is active, you are using the eSIM.

To switch between your local SIM and eSIM:

  1. Go to your phone's Cellular settings.

  2. Look for the eSIM profile:

    • If the eSIM profile is marked as 'Off' or 'Disabled,' your local SIM is active.

    • If the eSIM profile is active and set for cellular data, you are connected via the eSIM.

  3. Note: While in your home country, your local SIM is typically active, and the eSIM remains disabled until you travel.

💡 Tip: If you don’t have internet right away, turn on Airplane Mode for about 10 seconds and then turn it off – this refreshes the network connection.
